Hodosan Ropeway connects Sanroku(Bottom) station to Sancho(mountain top) station with a total length of 832m in about 5 minutes. The Hodosan ropeway offers not only magnificent views but a shortcut to the top of Mt Hodo (Hodosan). Mt Hodo is a vibrant mountain in Nagatoro Town, a picturesque and tourist town of the Chichibu District. Mt. Hodo, whilst not the highest peak in western Saitama, does offer some of the most spectacular views back to the east, across town, over the Arakawa, and over to the peaks far off into the distance. The walking path is a little steep, but the view of Chichibu is refreshing on the summit. "Ume Hyakkaen" of Hodosan is known as the plum garden with the most varieties in the Kanto region, and you can enjoy about 170 varieties.
The best time to see the plum blossoms is Beg Feb-End Mar.
