Sakurayama Park is a famous place for winter cherry blossoms, which is designated as a national scenic spot and a natural monument. You can enjoy cherry blossom viewing twice a year, in spring and from autumn to winter. During the blooming periods, the park is lit up at night, giving it a surreal, fluffy appearance. Tea ceremony events are held in the daytime during peak viewing seasons. You can see the blossoms as far as the eye can see and become captivated by the clouds of pink from over 10,000 cherry blossom trees. Especially in mid-November, you can see a competition between winter cherry blossoms and autumn leaves. In addition to cherry blossoms, camellias, azaleas, crape myrtle, Japanese allspice, and Fukujusou are planted in the park, and you can enjoy various flowers and plants throughout the four seasons. Illumination is also carried out during the flowering time. There is also a Japanese garden with a pond and a lawn open space for events.
The best time to see the winter cherry blossoms is Mid Nov-Beg Dec. At this time of year, you can enjoy the autumn leaves and winter cherry blossoms together, and the contrast is wonderful.
