The area around Tamaruya is famous as Mizusawa Udon Road, and there are many udon restaurants on both sides of the road. Tamaruya is a long-established udon restaurant founded in 1582. This restaurant is particular about ingredients, such as using 2-year-old Rishiri kelp for soup stock. The udon noodles sold by this restaurant are a blend of three types of flour with different personalities, and it is said that they have conducted research on their composition. The soup is often entwined with the noodles, and you can fully enjoy the flavors of both udon and soup.
