Surrounded by a forest of Japanese white birch and Erman's birch, this pond gorgeously reflects the alpine plants and autumn colors, which show the varying faces of the season against the backdrop of Mount Kasa. Kido Pond is located in the center of Shiga Kogen Plateau at an altitude of 1640m and is surrounded by birch forest with high transparency of pond water. The water in the pond is very clear, so the surrounding birch and mountains are reflected in the pond like a mirror, and the scenery is outstandingly beautiful. It is crowded with camping, boating, and fishing in the summer and skiing and snowboarding in the winter. You can enjoy more beautiful scenery during the autumn leaves. There is a walking path around the pond, and you can go around the pond in about 15 minutes.
The best time to see the autumn leaves is Mid Oct-End Oct.
