Senkoji is a Buddhist temple founded in 806. From the precincts at an altitude of 140m, you can see the city, Onomichi Port, and the sea. The unusual stage-built red-painted main hall was built in 1686 and is also known as the "Akado".
Senkoji Park is a park on a hill, and in addition to Senkoji, there are a museum, a restaurant, a ropeway, and an observatory deck with a panoramic view from the mountains. It is also known as a famous flower spot, and the cherry blossoms are especially beautiful (100 cherry blossom spots in Japan), and the wisteria is also wonderful with purple and pink flowers.
