This is the place where the castle of the Ikeda clan, the former feudal lord, was located. Currently, there is no castle, and Ishigaki, the ruins of the castle tower, and the inner moat remain. The white Western-style building Jinpukaku is a masterpiece of Meiji era (1868-1912) architecture built in the French Renaissance style. Inside the museum, items related to the Duke of Nakahiro, who built the Jinpukaku, and materials on the history of the Ikeda family are on display. You can enjoy the contrast between the heavy stone wall and the Western-style architecture of the Meiji era.
