Amami Park is a tourist hub for the entire Amami Islands. Amami park doesn't just focus on Amami Oshima, it is a museum that presents the nature, culture, and history of the Amami Islands and a museum displaying the works of Japanese-style painter Tanaka Isson. The museum dedicates one hall to each period of the painter's life, showcasing art he produced when living in that particular region. There is also a multipurpose plaza with an observatory and a stage. The tower is free to climb, so it might be a good idea to stop by if you have time to return to the airport. You can also enjoy Amami's local dish'keihan' chicken rice at the restaurant on the second floor.

If you have 2 days and 1 night, we invite you to explore the suburbs of Fukuoka. You have three main destinations suggested like Kitakyushu/Shionoseki, Takeo/Ureshino and very famous Onsen towns such as Yufuin/Beppu which are worth checking out. It is recommended for travelers who do not dispose of much time but who would not only want to visit Fukuoka City but also other places. However, 2 Days and 1 Night is very limited and we highly recommend to at least choose route with 3 days and 2 nights, or longer if you can. Additionally, it is risky to take a flight or bullet train after returning your car as external environment concerns can happen and can't be predicted. This is why we would advise to stay one night at Fukuoka.
