Honohoshi Coasホノホシ海岸
It is a tourist spot in the southern part of Amami Oshima, and it is quite a little-known spot. The beach with little big round stones is a masterpiece. The view is great and the sound of the waves is unique. The coast is struck by the rough waves of the Pacific Ocean, and the white waves, the ultramarine sea, and the surrounding rocky mountains create a beautiful landscape. There is also a cave and the view is great, so if you go to Amami Oshima, we definitely recommend it.

This coast is also known as a spiritual spot.
The stones on the beach are so beautifully round that you will want to take them home, but the stones here are strongly forbidden to take home. There is a saying that if you bring the stones home, the stones will start to move at night and disaster will come to the person, so please be careful.
About 10 km or 20 minutes from Setouchi Uminoeki. It's fun because you can drive along the scenic coastline.
About 1 hour and 10 minutes by car or 47km from / to Nazeko Town in the center of Amami Oshima.
About 1 hour and 45 minutes by car or 75km from / to the Amami Airport.

2D1N Routes
If you have 2 days and 1 night, we invite you to explore the suburbs of Fukuoka. You have three main destinations suggested like Kitakyushu/Shionoseki, Takeo/Ureshino and very famous Onsen towns such as Yufuin/Beppu which are worth checking out. It is recommended for travelers who do not dispose of much time but who would not only want to visit Fukuoka City but also other places. However, 2 Days and 1 Night is very limited and we highly recommend to at least choose route with 3 days and 2 nights, or longer if you can. Additionally, it is risky to take a flight or bullet train after returning your car as external environment concerns can happen and can't be predicted. This is why we would advise to stay one night at Fukuoka.
