Minatoya is a Keihan (Chicken rice) specialty restaurant located in the northern part of Amami Oshima, which was founded in 1946. Minatoya is one of the top 5000 restaurants on Tabelog, a famous Japanese gourmet site similar to Yelp!. With a total of 900,000 restaurants in Japan, Minatoya is in the top 0.1% of restaurants in all of Japan. The first owner arranged the traditional Keihan, which looked like cooked rice and created the current style of eating rice with ingredients and chicken soup. Today, it is the originator of Keihan, a typical local dish of Amami Oshima. The chicken used for ""Keihan"" is only locally safe and secure chicken. In order to make a delicious soup that is rich but has no odor, it is important to use fresh chicken and to stew it slowly over a simmering fire while removing the lye and excess fat. At this restaurant, only the soup made that day is used. The restaurant is open only during lunchtime and will close as soon as the soup runs out, so if you want to eat it, we recommend that you go early.

Advice:
The parking lot is next to the store along Route 602, and there is a chicken statue that makes it easy to find.
