Uwasekigata Park encircles Uwasekigata within its grounds in the rice fields to the southwest of downtown Niigata. It's a mini nature reserve for waterfowl and raptors like the Japanese black kites ("tonbi" in Japanese). Yellow nanohana and pink sakura make it a spectacular place to go in the spring, and the views of Mt. Kakuda rising directly to the west are spectacular at any time of year. In spring, rape blossoms and cherry blossoms bloom almost at the same time. Especially from mid-April to late April, you can enjoy the collaboration of cherry blossoms and rape blossoms. There's also a playground and pedal car track for young children making it a great place to visit with the family. It is a great place for a walk as well.

Advice:
Rape blossom: End Mar-End Apr
Cherry blossom: Beg Apr-Mid Apr
Sun flower: Mid Aug
Cosmos: Beg Oct

There is a very stylish Cafe near the parking lot. If you get tired of walking in the park, it's a great place to take a break.
