Takada Castle was built in the 1610s, which is a flatland style Japanese castle. Under the Tokugawa shogunate, it became the centre of Takada Domain.
The architecture of this castle is stunning and the surrounding views of the mountains, is magnificent. This spot is a tranquil place for taking a stroll, enjoying the sunset and posing for pictures in different spots.
From mid April, visitors can see the mountains covered with little snow as well as cherry blossom.
During summer, visitors can see the river filled with lotuses.
There is a Cherry blossoms festival during spring season.
Opening hours -
9:00-17:00 (the hours are extended if there is an event happening)
Closed on Mondays. (if Monday is a holiday then the place remains shut the following day)

Temporary closures are also possible.
Open during cherry blossoms viewing season, GW and summer vacation.
