Oginoshima Kayabuki Loop Village荻ノ島環状かやぶき集落
Oginoshima Kayabuki Loop Village is beautiful historic site in Niigata. It is a village where houses are built with a ring shaped infrastructure around a paddy field, originally to respond to intruders from outside. This area is a ‘ring-shaped thatched-roof village’ dotted with thatched-roof houses. The original scenery of Japan still remains. This is an extremely pleasing view and takes the visitors back in time with it’s nostalgic architecture and appearance. This spot is visited by many photo enthusiasts and painting enthusiasts throughout the year.
There are also thatched-roof accommodations where visitors can spend the night.
There is also a facility in the village centre, Oginoshima Village Centre where visitors can buy postcards of sketches based on this scenery along with other souvenirs.
